Super Sponsor Giveaway: Breckenridge Soap Co.

Hey cutie pies! Welcome to March Giveaway Madness!

Let's welcome a new super sponsor: Breckenridge Soap Co.
Breckenridge Soap Co. was created with the birth of Renee’s son in 2009.  After learning about all of the chemicals that go into everyday skin products, Renee had a plan to create better bath & body products for her family.  Organic soaps, salves & lip balms were born and a business blossomed from there.

I was honored to work with such a fabulous organic skin care line!
Renee and I discussed what products I would like best and we went from there for a product review:

My experience just chatting with Renee was really great. If you aren't sure what products for you, she would be happy to help and she ended up sending me 3 lovely products to review that came with a sweet note as well. I just love the matching logo labels by the way!!

The first thing I immediately noticed was how great the packaging was for EVERYTHING. My soap was packaged in air tight biodegradable shrink wrap and had an adorable soap label that was made of of seed paper. I already planted it in my backyard! I'll update you guys on what grows from this paper soon. :)
Everything looked so professional and at the same time, obviously handmade with organic love.
You could easily gift any of Breckenridge's products directly to friends in a different state!

Plus, Breckenridge's shipping rates are really affordable! I love it!!!
"Buyers will only pay ACTUAL shipping & handling charges. If we are able to consolidate your order into a flat rate box, we will refund the difference"

Larger Image Let's start off with my favorite salve. This Calendula and lavender salve was sent me to as a surprise in addition to the other products I chose to review. I was so glad that Renee sent me this healing salve because it honestly smells heavenly to me. She said it's one of her favorites... and I could totally see why!

This salve ($8) can be used as an intense moisturizer for dry spots of the body, including your lips. I mentioned to Renee that I have "chronic dry lips" as I call it. It was really sweet of her to remember and to send this over as well. I have used this product on my lips and scarred zones on my forehead multiple times now. It leaves a shine on your skin while drying but I can tell it does an awesome job hydrating your skin. After a week of intensive lip care, my lips feel less dry than before! My dad also started using it for some serious skin peeling he got on his fingers from construction work (he's a contractor) and he loves that it dries fairly quickly and finds the scent fragrant. :)

Calendula and lavender together has a great aromatherapy dynamic. It's so soothing and I look forward to just unscrewing the twist cap lid and applying it directly to my lips. I can't really explain what it smells like.. you guys know what lavender smells like but this isn't full-on lavender. The other natural ingredients in this such as calendula-olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, and coconut oil come together in such a mesmerizing way. My olfactory senses is bananas for this healing salve..plus, it gives me a nice lip shine as well!

Since Breckenridge Soap Co. offers a huge collection of soap, I had to try one!

Renee: My favorite product to create is soap.  I use organic ingredients when creating my soaps, which is a challenge in itself.  Because I don’t use standard dyes or perfumes to color and scent my soap, each new batch of soap is an experiment.  You never know how an herb or clay will react in a batch of cold process soap.  I might add a pink herb, hoping to color my soap pink only to unwrap it three days later to find a brown batch of soap.  It’s not a predictable process, which is exciting in its own way.

There are plenty to choose from... from fruity...Clarifying Citrus Soap

to unique beer Breckenridge Brewery's Avalanche Ale Soap!

This Complexion bar soap ($7) that I chose was not only aesthetically stunning, but memorable every time I used it! I have never used a anything with activated charcoal in it so I was really excited and interested in this product when I read this description:

Larger Image

Breckenridge Soap Co.: This all handmade, organic complexion bar is a mild bar of soap is great for the body and face. Activated charcoal is a wonderful skin purifier. It acts as a magnet by cleaning out pores. It also disinfects wounds and absorbs odors.

Since my acne prone skin is always scarring, I decided to go with this one to see how I like it. Guys, it smells like soda fizz. Yeah, the amazing carbonated fizzy smell you get a whiff of when you crack open a can of your favorite soda. I know it sounds funny but that's what this complexion bar smells like when it is dry and getting wet. When lathering, it does not over-bubble and the fizzy smells turns into a crisp clean scent that men and women would appreciate. Once you use this product, your skin will physically feel firm and tight-- youthful to say the least!

Last but not least, I got a lovely unscented organic lip balm for my troubled dry lips.

This little guy is $3.50 and gets on your lips like butter! I like that it was unscented because "unscented" in a brand store means "boring" but for Breckenridge, it means smooth, moisture-locking simplicity. This standard chapstick is great to carry in your jacket pocket or purse. It's another unisex product that everyone can enjoy and it's buttery rich texture on your lips will have you lip smacking in happiness. The moisture stayed on my lips for at least an hour upon application. It gives you a sheer nonsticky shine and also does not seem to dry out. Store bought chapstick over time gets dry and hurts to rub on your lips. I don't think I'll have that problem with this lip balm!

Larger Image

Made with local Colorado beeswax, organic Shea butter, organic coconut oil, organic calendula-infused olive oil, organic palm kernel flakes, organic sweet almond oil, organic avocado oil and lanolin.

If you are a chapstick fanatic and need some spf as well, you'll love these giant natural lip balms.
These are like those massive glue sticks... your lips will be happy year round!

Breckenridge Soap Co. has really proven to me their talent in diversity with organic skincare. It's one thing to be good at making soap but another to master several different types of skincare from lipbalm to healing salves. I am so impressed by their work and will support them as a friend, blogger, and hopefully future customer.

Renee: I am proud of the fact that I’ve stuck to what I believe is important...using organic ingredients. Our skin absorbs 60% of what we put on it, so organic is our choice.  My soaps, salves, lip balms, etc are safe, high quality products that I am comfortable putting on my son.

I'm so excited to offer you all a $30 gift certificate to Breckenridge Soap Co.'s main website
It is international and for everyone 18+ or with parent's permission.

    1. My skin is exactly the same way! It's nice because the salve works on anything really.. for dryness and healing. Sometimes I just put some on my face dry spots before I go to sleep and in the morning, those areas are visibly less irritated. :)
