Reflection Time

Hey guys,

Today is a more personal reflection post. I was cleaning out my drawer and found this scribbled in a little notebook. I'm currently 23 years old so I wrote this down sometime last year. Let's start off with reading it...

I feel like a lot of the things that I tend to write down in passing all say the same thing but have different elements to it depending on where I am in life. After hitting my early 20's, the inevitable truth is that it's hard figuring out what's next. But... it's normal to take things day by day because you can't plan every aspect of your life. Sure, I know what I'm aiming for but in the grand scheme of things, you really just need to head in that direction and take on all the opportunities that come your way. You may end up somewhere completely different from where you intended to be and that's okay too. The main thing to remember is to believe in yourself and your strengths and go for the happy.

I realize that in very poor penmanship, I wrote something that we all know and believe deep inside. But often, what we want and what we believe in gets foggy with everything going on around us. At least I know that it can get that way for me.

I'm glad I found this little note to myself. I do this pretty often and I always come to the same conclusions:

1. Don't worry about what other people think.
2. Don't compare yourself to other people.
3. Don't let yourself get bored or complacent with life.
4. Always strive to better yourself.
5. Be healthy and happy.

Have a great week everyone!

  1. Excellent conclusions, Dana. I'm glad you found this note (I love your penmanship, and as a matter of fact, I just wrote about "pen & paper" today on my blog as well). I'm glad you posted it. It's always interesting to look back on things - one year, or more - and see what we were thinking, how we were feeling. Reflection is always a good thing.

I hope you have a great weekend, my friend. =0)
