I am really excited to share this post with you. For the past 2 months, I was in this amazing creativity and crafts analysis class where I was basically supplied an artist's dream room full of supplies and no limitations. And knowing me, I went nuts. I made so many things for the apartment, gifts for friends/family, you name it, I probably it. So here is a list of things I created in the past 2 months. I am so sad to see this class end but also so happy to have made so many memorable art pieces.
Here are my two favorite Totoro inspired mini drawer sets. I made one for my sister and one for myself. Guess which one I kept.
They turned out pretty great!
I also made a lot of kitchen supplies from cup coasters to a spice rack. The paper towel rack gets used everyday which is so handy and handstained in cherry red! The macaroon apron was one of my last quick projects... I just really wanted an apron even though I don't use them! Hah!The suncatcher was for my dad's garden. :)
I made this wooden butterfly puzzles and spray painted them gold for the living room. The little frame in the middle was an on-the-whim project that I made as well.
This collage box was my first project. I cut a whole bunch of beautiful cardstock for this project and it turned out great. I also embellished it with little pearl flatblacks that gave the box some texture.
My living room was furnished but completely empty when I moved in. So these Vangogh fabric pillows really added something to the space. One of my professors who picked all the fabric for us always brought the cutest and coolest fabrics!!
Here are two abstract pieces I added to the living room as well. I have no idea why my housing decided that brown would be a pretty color for the bedroom and only half of the living room. We definitely needed the bright acrylic colors.
This is a mini heart box that I decorated and painted with a lot of love. I'm giving it to a friend who watched me make the whole thing and seemed to love it more than I did!
The "live" collage on the left was for my friend's birthday and the wine painting was for my friend's wedding. Guests placed their finger print in red ink to make it appear like it was flowing out of the bottle.
This was my first attempt at wood burning and wood staining!
And last but not least, here are some typographies that I created for my bedroom. The white quotes were found via instagram and the one in the middle was said by one of my professors during the first week of week. It doesn't mean you should aim low, it meas you don't have to be perfect and stress yourself out over making A's. I believe all students need to hear that. Try your best but not at the expense of your health or well-being. Be balanced!
I'm going to miss the craft room... and all it's glory.
Thanks for swinging by everyone. Catch ya later~
